I am not losing weight or gaining muscle tone anymore, Why?

I quit smoking and went up to 161lbs, I got a trainer was on a 1250 cal per day diet and excercised about 4 days a week an hour each day, on top of this I work at a job where I walk around all day carrying about 13 lbs of water and is pretty physical a job. I am now down to about 137lbs and I am 5"8. I cannot keep up the low cal diet as it isn't healthy for me, so I am starting to eat more around 1500 to 1800 cal per day sometimes more. I work out at least 4 times a week and any progress has stopped My waist butt and thighs still seem huge to me and I am getting depressed what can I do? My bmi has gone down considerably, but I am at average. I want to be fit, but by the time I get out of my physical job and go to work out I work out hard, but am too tired from work to burn more than 300 calories usually. What should I do?
Answer:
First, CONGRATS on quitting smoking! Secondly, 137lbs is an awesome weight for being so tall! Thirdly, good for you for eating the 1500 -1800 calories a day... your body must have that fuel to keep up with your daily routine. I would say, since you've already lost 25+lbs to stick to the weights at the gym, instead of doing so much cardio. Lifting wieght/ doing machines will tone up your muscles and build them up. And it is a fact that the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn throughout the day. Also, eat more protein... it keeps your metabolism kickin and helps you tone up those muscles! When you do a lot of exercise without eating enough protein you burn the protein that resides in your muslces and you won't tone as well. Good luck and stick to it, you've made remarkable progress in what you've already done!!

hi. post up your age please.
You've reached a "Plateau". This mean that despite your ongoing exercise routine, you don't seem to lose any more weight. Sometimes,it's best to measure how your clothing fits vs. weight loss. You are on the right track so don't get discouraged!! Are you doing toning exercises that are specifically for the butt, waist and thighs?? Sometimes,we are our own worst critics about body appearance. Then,of course, genetics can be a factor!! What do your friends/family think about how you look?? If you feel the need to look perfect, then you can set yourself up for disappointment. Don't weigh yourself everyday because a persons' weight can normally fluctuate regardless of how much exercise and dieting that we do. If you are determined to lose more weight or tone those areas mentioned, then it time to adjust your routine. Yeah, it s**** when your tired and cannot work-out as much as you would like. How about going for a brisk walk on your lunch break??You can add weights to your ankles and wrists. Walking is a great exercise for toning the waist, thighs, and butt. Use the stairs instead of an elevator. Park your car further away when you go to the mall or food shopping. Basically, you need to increase your exercise routine and be patient !! You've come along way so think positive !! Drinking plenty of water is important as well. I hope that this helps. Hang in there!!
Hi hun fantastic question Wait until next month the weight will drop off your body all the work your doing now don't give up I know for a fact that next month all that excess weight will go.i guarantee that.
Around this time everyone tends to put on weight don't worry its a faze
You need to eat more so that you can gain more muscle. And eat more protein because that is what builds you muscles.try eating more sea food..that meat is low in calories and is high in protein. You should exercise for 30 minutes per day, every day. make sure you are getting enough sleep so that you will have the energy to work out. Also, drink lots of water.. Good luck!!
